Program Description:  This course addresses vision impairments and loss. Reduction or loss of vision creates a significant sensory impact on the daily life of the individual. Examples of such loss can include the inability to complete activities of daily living, joyfully pursue hobbies and avocations, read fine print, drive, and see the faces of loved ones. Intervention to assist the visually impaired flows along a continuum of care. This course goes beyond basic and intermediate low vision rehabilitation and will address advanced management topics which include specialized examination testing, training techniques and devices.

Program Description: In this updated series of Continuum of Care Low Vision and Blind Rehabilitation, Module 3 presents new guidelines and research in the assessment of history, visual function, eccentric viewing, low vision refraction, and binocular and extraocular muscle evaluation from providers in the VA continuum of care low vision program. Additionally, a knowledge gap has been created which addresses various service delivery platforms offered by low vision clinics throughout the country, providing an overview of specialized assessment tools and testing techniques for use with visually impaired and blind patients in a clinical setting.
